About Patrick Cole
Patrick Thomas Cole completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona
in 1989, in the fields of sociology and anthropology. He later graduated from the
University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, receiving his Master of Social
Work (MSW) degree. Patrick selected the Master of Social Work degree because he
is interested in the whole person, both individually and within the context of his
or her environment. He is committed to social justice for every population, and
remains committed to charity work around the world. He is a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker in the state of Colorado, specializing in Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy.
Patrick offers empathy and compassion to every client, often incorporating Buddhist
philosophy and Depth Psychology to the basis of the aforementioned evidenced-based
behavioral therapies. He firmly believes in the potential of every client with whom
he works, often focusing on solutions and strengths, rather than problems.
Patrick has found along the way that the partnership of therapy achieves surprising
results for his clients. Together, he and his clients clear away the obstacles to
potential, revealing opportunities for lasting growth, as well as the realization
of unexpected goals that were not considered at the outset of therapy. This unfolding
and openness is what keeps Patrick committed and passionate about the field of psychotherapy.
His absence of judgment, and his preponderance of gratitude, is what keeps his clients
focused and committed to growth.
Patrick continues to develop his clinical skills by attending a variety of continuing
education seminars and symposia across the country. He also works for Centura Health,
at Porter Hospital, on the inpatient psychiatric unit. Additionally, Patrick has
found it helpful to enhance his diagnostic awareness by working for the Emergency
Psychiatric Assessment Team at Centura. In this way, he takes great pride in helping
patients and their families in crisis.
